The best way to get the know the area around Huaraz is to take motorbike tour. Try it and you'll know it! From 60 dollars a day (discounts for multiple-day tours) you can have the spectacular experience of driving in one day from the beach on the Pacific coast, over a 5000 meter snow-capped mountain pass and then down into the Amazon jungle heat.
